AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23.903
OF ARTICLE IX (FIRE LANES) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK
GROVE VILLAGE BY ADDING DESIGNATED
FIRE LANES FOR THE DEVON AVENUE MARKET
WHEREAS, T. A. Bolger Realtors, the manager of the Devon Avenue
Market, has requested in writing that certain areas within the Devon
Avenue Market be designated as fire lanes, a copy of which request is
attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A of this Ordinance;
and
WHEREAS, it is further requested by said manager that the
Elk Grove Village Police Department be granted the authority to enforce any
ordinance prohibiting parking on said designated fire lanes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
Du Page, Illinois.
Section 1: That Section 23.903 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, which provides for certain areas located
in the Village to be designated "fire lanes", and making it unlawful for
any person to block or obstruct wholly or partly any such designated
area, be amended by adding thereto the following:
0. Devon Avenue Market:
All areas designated as fire lanes on a map entitled
"Devon Avenue Market", which map is incorporated by reference
as a part of Ordinance No. 1198
Section 2: That a map entitled "Devon Avenue Market" with a
designation thereon listing fire lanes, which map is attached hereto
as Exhibit B, be and the same is hereby incorporated into this Ordinance.
Section 3: That any person, firm or corporation violating any of
the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less
than Five ($5.00) Dollars, nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars
for each offense.
Section 4: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish
this Ordinance in pamphlet form, and the Village Manager is directed to
post all areasdesignated as fire lanes hereby with appropriate signs.
Section 5: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.

Dear Membersof the Village Board:
I Terence A. Bolger being manager of the Devon Avenue
Market located at Devon Avenue & Tonne Road in Elk Grove
Village, Illinois desire the establishment of Fire Lanes
around our buildings, I Terence A. Bolger being the
manager of the property do hereby authorize and permit
the Village of Elk Grove Village to establish Fire Lanes
on the aforementioned property. Said Fire Lanes to be
located and designated on the property as shown on the
Plat of Survey here attached as Exhibit "A".
It is clearly understood that the owner of the property
will pay for the purchase and installation of the signs
posting the Fire Lane. Said signs to be approved by the
Village before their installation.

Ordinance No. 1198
An Ordinance Amending Section 23.903 of Article IX (Fire Lanes) of the Municipal
Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village by adding Designated Fire Lanes for the
Devon Avenue Market,was duly adopted by the President and Board of Trustees on
December 27th, 1977. Said ordinance has been published in Pamphlet Form pursuant
to the authority of the President and Board of Trustees, Village of Elk Grove Village,
Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois. Copies,with exhibits,are available at the
Village Clerk's Office, Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village,
Illinois.
