HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 1119 - 1/25/1977 - SIGN VARIATION/25 TURNER AVEORDINANCE NO. 1119 .. _ AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION OF THE VILLAGE SIGN ORDINANCE TO PERMIT ONE Zlilt DOUBLE FACED, FREE STANDING SIGN AT 25 TURNER AVENUE, ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, Investment Enterprises, by and through its managing partner, Ken Kocolowski, has requested a variation of the Village sign ordinance, Ordinance 388, thereby permitting the construction of an 18 foot double faced, free standing sign at a shopping center located at 25 Turner Avenue; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 388 would presently permit two double faced, free standing signs, one facing .each street, with a square footage maximum of 90 square feet for each double faced sign; and WHEREAS, the owner has agreed to install only one double faced, free standing sign if a variation is granted wherein one double faced, free standing sign with 192 total square feet can be erected; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village find that a hardship exists with respect to the owner and his potential tenants in the shopping center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That there be granted a variation of Ordinance 388 to Investment Enterprises to construct a double faced, free standing sign, with a maximum footage of 96 square feet for each face, on property located at 25 Turner Avenue, Elk Grove Village, and legally described as follows: Lot 1 in Nelson's Resubdivision, being a Resubdivision in Section 32, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, subject to the following conditions: A). That the owner agrees not to construct any other free standing identification signs fronting Turner Avenue or Arlington Heights Road. B). That this variation is binding on the owner, its successors, assigns and lessees. Section 2: That any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for each offense. Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. VOTES: AYES: 4 NAYS: I ABSENT: 2 ATTEST: Eleanor G.
