AN ORDINANCE DECLARING A MORATORIUM WITH REFERENCE TO
ANNEXATION REQUESTS AND CERTAIN REZONING REQUESTS
WHEREAS the President and Board of Trustees have determined an acute
water shortage is existing and may in the future exist, and
WHEREAS a water study is necessary to define the problem and set
forth a definitive course of action, and
WHEREAS it is deemed necessary that certain rezoning requests and
annexation requests presently pending or to be made should be delayed
pending such studies.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and Du Page, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1. That no Official of the Village of Elk Grove Village
shall take any action on any request presently pending or to be filed
with the Village for annexation and/or for rezoning which would have '
the effect of increasing the need for an additional supply of water
in excess of that presently required until August 24, 1976, pending receipt
of water studies authorized as of date hereof.
Section 2. That all requests for building permits pending or to be
filed and heretofore restricted shall be issued in due course.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall supersede any and all previous
action and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval as provided by law.
