AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING APPROXIMATELY 37 ACRES OF
VACANT LAND AND ADJOINING ROADWAYS TO THE VILL-
AGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has recently acquired
title to vacant land contiguous to the existing Village limits; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-1-9 of the
Illinois Municipal Code, (Chapter 24, ILL.REV.STAT 1973) a munici-
pality may annex any contiguous, uninhabited, unincorporated realty
owned by said municipality by the adoption of an ordinance to that
effect; and
WHEREAS, said land and territory is not within the corporate
limits of any municipality, but is contiguous to the Village of
Elk Grove Village and has no electors residing thereon; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with the statutes made
and provided, notice of intent to annex said territory has been
given to the Elk G::ove Rural Fire Protection District 10 days in
advance of the date hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That the land and territory shown and legally
described in the attached Exhibit "A", which Exhibit "A" is a Plat
of Annexation prepared and certified by Edgar E. Webster, an Illinois
Land Surveyor, which Exhibit is incorporated herein by reference and
made part of this ordi-nance, which land is owned by the Village, is
contiguous to its existing Village limits, is vacant and has no
electors residing thereon, and is not within the limits of any
municipality, be and is hereby annexed to the Village of Elk Grove
Village so that hereafter said territory shall be included within
the boundary lines and limits of said Village.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Elk Grove
Village be and is hereby directed to record a certified copy of
this Ordinance with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
