AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPI'ER 24 MISDEMEANORS AND OTHER
OFFENSES OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE BY ADDI"1G THERETO A NE%) SECTION PROHIBITING UNAUTHORIZED
TAMPERING WITH FIRE HYDRANTS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Viilaee of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1• That Chapter 24, Misdemeanors and Other Offenses of the
Municipal Code of the Village. of Elk Grove Village be amended by adding
thereto the foIIowing sections:
24.042 Fire Hydrents: It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to tamper with, turn on, or damage in
any manner any fire hydrant located in the Village.
24.01+3 - Any person, firm or corporation violating the
provisions of Section 24.042 shall be subject to a fine
of not less than $10.00 nor more than $500.00 for each
offense.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
upon its passage, approval and publication, accord! rig to law.
