AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE VACATION OF HOUSTON AVENUE
IN ELK GROVE VILLAGE SECTION 18
WHEREAS, The President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Elk Grove Village, after due investigation and due consideration,
have determined that the nature and extent of the public use and
the public interest to be served is such as to warrant the vacation
of Houston Avenue,in the Village of Elk Grove Village, which property
is further described on the Plat of Vacation attached hereto and
incorporated herein, and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have determined
that such vacation will not affect the ingress or egress routes of
any persons;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, as follows:
Section 1: That the area known as Houston Avenue, which
was previously dedicated to the Village of Elk Grove Village and
legally described hereinafter on the attached Plat of Vacation,
incorporated herein, shall be and the same is hereby vacated, closed,
inasmuch as said street is no longer required for public use, and
the public interest be best served by such vacation.
Section 2: Be it further ordained that the Village Clerk be
and is hereby directed to file for record in the Office of Recorder
of Deeds of cook County, Illinois a certified copy of this ordinance
with an accompanying plat of vacation.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval, according to law.
Vote: Ayes 4

Absent 2
