AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING THE USE OF ELK GROVE AND KENNEDY BOULEVARDS
IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Section 14.1001, Restrictions on Boulevard Traffic,
of Chapter 14, Traffic, of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
'14.1001: Restrictions on Boulevard Traffic.
It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle, designed primarily or
used for carrying freight or goods and merchandise for commercial
purposes, when said vehicle bears a Class C license plate or greater,
as designated in Chapter 952', Section 3-815 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes, 1971, except at stop intersections for the purpose of
crossing a boulevard; provided, however, that vehicles bearing a
Class C license plate or greater, carrying freight or other merch-
andise from or to any building or premises abutting any boulevard,
where it is impossible from the location of the building or the
kind or character of the freight or goods to be received or delivered,
to receive or deliver the freight or other goods or merchandise from
a side street, or a street other than said boulevard, shall be permitted
to enter such boulevard at the cross street nearest said building or
premises, and receive or deliver such freight or other goods but shall
not thereafter proceed further on said boulevard than the nearest cross
street. Operators of emergency vehicles are exempt from the provisions
of this section."
Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys,
omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or resists the enforcement of any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not more
than $500.00, nor less than $5.00 for each offense, and each day a violation
continues to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
