AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE (ORDINANCE
NO. 842) BY ADDING THERETO A NEW PARAGRAPH
PERMITTING CERTAIN PROJECTIONS NOT TO EXCEED
TWELVE INCHES
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Elk Grove Village,
acting as a zoning commission, at a public hearing duly called and
held according to law, considered the question of amending the
Zoning ordinance of the Village of Elk Grove Village to permit cer-
tain projections in required yard areas not to exceed twelve inches;
and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village, having considered the recommendation of the said
Zoning Commission, find and believe that such an amendment as stated
above is in the best interests of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage
Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That Section 3.54, USES OF YARDS FOR STRUCTURES
IN ALL ZONING DISTRICTS, of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Elk Grove Village (Ordinance No. 842) be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
(e) Every part of a required yard shall be open to the sky,
unobstructed, except for the ordinary projection of sills,
belt courses, cornices, and ornamental features projecting
not to exceed twelve inches.'
Section 2: Any person, firm or corporation who violates,
disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with, or resists
the enforcement o any of the provisions of this ordinance shall,
upon conviction thereof be fined not less than Five Dollars ($5.00)
nor more than $500.00 for each and every offense. A separate

offense shall be deemed committed on each day a violation occurs
or continues.
Section 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, ac-
cording to law.
