AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 of TIIE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE - REDUCING TIIE SALARY OF THE VILLAGE CLERK WHEREAS, the Statutes of the State of Illinois prohibit a municipality from increasing or decreasing the salary of an appointed officer during the term in which that officer is elected; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and.DuPage, as follows: Section 1: That Section 3.001, Election, Term, Compensation, as amended, be amended so as to read as follows: ection 3.001. Election, Term, Compensation. The Village Clerk shall be elected and serve for a four (4) year term until his or her successor is elected, and qualified, as provided by statute. His or her com- pensation shall be $1,200 per year, payable in 24 equal semi-monthly payments. Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after the first day of May, 1973.
