HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 806 - 5/9/1972 - POLICE DEPT/SALARIES AMENDEDORDINANCE NO. 206 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SALARIES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE VTLGAGE OF ELK GROVE, VILLAGE NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President: and Board of Trustees of the Village of Ell: Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That the salaries for Lieutenants, Sergeants, Patrolmen and Cadets of the Police Department of the Village of Falk Grove Village shall be and are hereby established as follows: Police Police Police Police Length of Service Lieutenant Soryeant Patrolman Cadet Pay in Elk Grove Village Per Month Rev Month Per Month Per Month Step Less than one year of experience in rank $1,151 $1,045 $ 860 $565 A One year but less - than two years experience in rank 1,252 1,136 934 593 B Two years but less than three years experience in rank 1,361 1,235 1,016 623 C Three years but less than four years experience in .rank 1,105 654 D Four years but less than five years experience in rank 687 E Five years experience in rank 721 F Reference to "Length of Service" is applicable only to Patrolman and Cadet. No person presently employed shall receive two (2) experience pay increases within one rank in any twelve (12) month period except upon specific authorization by the President and Board of Trustees. Section 2. A new Patrolman may be hired in pay step B if he has two (2) or more years of prior police, or equivalent, experience and only in instances when, in the judgment of the Fire and Police Commission, a candidate is exceptionally well qualified. - Section 3. Within ten (10) days from passage of this ordinance, or at the time of hiring a new policeman, the Fire and Police Commission of the Village shall ascertain and verify a po.Zice- man's prior police experience, if any. Police experience shall be computed to the nearest month. Periods of more than fifteen (15) days small be computed as a full month's experience. Upon. ascertainment of a policeman's experience, the Secretary of the Fire and Police Commission shall transmit to the Village Treasurer the following information: 71. Name of the policeman. B. Effective date of employment with the Village of Elk Grove Village Police Department. C. Salary anniversary date. Duplicate copiers of the foregoing shall be sent to the Chief of Police, the Village Manager and the Village Clerk. Section 4, Except as otherwise provided herein, all pay increases resulting either directly or indirectly, from police experience acquired as a member of the Police Department of the Village, shall be effective on the first day of the pay period wherein falls the policeman's annual in -rank experience anniversary. Section _S. This Ordinance shall be in full effect and according to law provided, however, experience pay increases granted present personnel shall be effective as of May 1, 1972.
