HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 828 - 9/12/1972 - SPECIAL USE/GREER TECH INSTITUTEORDINANCE NO. ��.2-.V AN ORDINANCE GRANTI'�(, A SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO GREER TECHNICAL INSTITUTE TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PAPT`TNG LOT WHEREAS, the Plan Commission, sitting as a Zoning Commission, at a public hearing duly held according to law, considered the question of granting a special use permit to Greer Technical Institute to allow the construction of a parking lot on property legally described hereinafter; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has recommended that such a permit be granted; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, after reviewing the recommendations of the Plan Commission, find and believe that the granting of such special use permit is in the best interests of the Village; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That the Zoning Ordinance passed and approved July 8, 1957, known as Ordinance No. 20, is hereby amended by granting a special use permit to Greer Technical Institute, so as to permit the construction of a parking lot on property legally described as follows: Lots 88, 89, 90 and 91 (except the West 69.10 feet thereof) in Higgins Road Commercial Subdivision, Unit No. 3, being a subdivision in the West half of Section 22, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, In Cool: County, Illinois, subject to the following restrictions and conditions: (a) Restrictions: 1. There shall be no storage of material, supplies or equipment on the property. 2. There shall be no p,.rking of ve]iicles on any easements or within 25 feet of the front lot line 3. There shall be no inoperable vehicles parked, stored or left on the property 4. The parking area, in part or in its entirety, shall not be leased nor used by persons or firms other than the business firm, located at 1000 Lee Street (b) Conditions: 1. Each parking space shall be not less than 10'x 20' and have access to an aisleway for ingress and egress. 2. Only operable vehicles owned or leased by the business firm or used by employees of that firm shall be allowed to use the parking facility. 3. Construction as outlined below, shall be completed prior to using the property for vehicular parking purposes: a. Plans, which include the following features shall be submitted to the Village Engineer for review and approval: (i) Underground storm water drainage system (ii) Asphalt or concrete surface (iii) Concrete driveway aprons on public property (iv) Concrete sidewalk on public property (v) Landscaped with pervious material on all public property adjacent to the lot (vi) Wheel stops for each parking space (vii)Low intensity, non -glare lighting of the lot b. Construction shall not begin until a permit has been issued by the Village Engineer 4. This special use permit shall become null and void at such time as the parking facility is not used for any period consisting of ninety consecutive calendar days. Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, according to law. PASSED and APPROVED it -±s day of 1972.
