S135 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE ;r, RESTRICTED TRAFFIC USE OF BOULEVARDS IN TIIE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That Article X, Restricted Traffic Use, of Boulevards, in the Village of Elk Grove Village, be and is hereby amended to read as follows: 14.1001. Restrictions on Boulevard Traffic. It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle upon any boulevard (a) when such vehicle is carrying freight or other goods and merchandise for com- mercial purposes, (b) when such vehicle is des- igned primarily for carrying freight or other goods and merchandise, and, (c) when such vehicle is used f5rcarrying freight or other goods and merchandise on the outside of said vehicle, except at street intersections for the purpose of crossing a boule- vard; provided, however, that vehicles carrying freight and other goods and merchandise from or to any building or premises abutting any boulevard where it is impossible from the location of the building or the kind or character of the freight or other goods or merchandise to be received or delivered, to receive or deliver the freight or other goods and merchandise from an alley or a side street, or a street other than said boulevard, shall be permitted to enter such boulevard at the cross street nearest said building or premises and receive or deliver such freight or other goods and merchandise, but shall not thereafter proceed fur- ther on such boulevard than the nearest cross street. Operators of emergency vehicles are exempt from cne provisions of this section. 14.1002. For purposes of the above section 14.1001, a vehicle is defined as every device in or upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, except devices moved or used by human power. 14.1003. For purposes of 14.1001 of the Muni- cipal Code, the following streets are designated as Boulevards in the Village of Elk Grove Village: (a) Kennedy Boulevard (b) Elk Grove Boulevard 14.1004. Any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects, or refuses to comply with or resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500, nor lessthan $5.00 for each offense; and each day a violation continues to exist shall constitute a separate offense. Section 2: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, ac- cording to law. PASSED this /at/—day day of 1972.
