Reference to "Length of Service" is applicable only to Fireman.
No person presently emp.ZOyed shall receive taro (2) experience pay ineyeasc;,
within one rank in any twclve (12) month pericd e.:cept upon sp=cific
authorization by the President and Board of Trustees.
Sect_i_o_n_2. A new fireman may be hired in pay step B if he
has two (2) or more y«rs of prior fire, or equivalent,
experience and only in instances when, in the judgment of
the Fire and Police Cca;;n�iJsio^., a candida`e is exceptionally_
well qualified.
Scctjon _3 Within ten (10) days from passage of this
Ordinance, or at Me Lime of hiring a new fireman, the
Fire and Pollee Commission of the Village shall a.soertain

the .ecretary of the Fire and Police Commission shall tranpoi` t
to the Village 'Treasurer the following information:
A. Name of t12e fireman.
B. Effective date of r_mployment with the ViNage of-
Elk
fElk crove Village Fire Department.
C. Salary anniversary date.
Duplicate copies of the foregoing shall be sent to tho Fire Chief, the Vill&go
Manager and the Village Clerk.
Section 4. Except as otherwise provided h^.rein, all pay
increases resulting either d.i.rectlq or indirectly from
ezperiencc acquired as a member of the Fire Department of
the Village, shall be effective on the first day of Che
pay period therein falls the fireman's annual in -rank
e::pe.rience anniversary.
Section _5_._ This Ordinance shall be in full effect and
according to law provided, however, experience pay increases
granted present personnel shall bo effective as of May 1, 1971.
