AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AN ORDINtiNCE
IMPOSING A MUN:CCIPAL UTILITY TXr
WHEREAS,•the President and Board of Trustees did
on July 2, 1968 adopt a certain ordinance,numbered 541, entitled
"Municipal Utility Tax" and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of said ordinance was to raise
revenue, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village have determined that said ordinance
should expire on February 28, 1969.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cool, and Du Page, Illinois:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 541 entitled
"Municipal Utility Tax", adopted July 2, 1968! be and it is
hereby repealed.
Section 2: That the Village Manager is hereby
directed to transmit certified copies of this ordinance to all,
public utilities providing service within the Village of Elk
Grove Village which have heretofore been subject to said
municipal utility tax.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full. force
and effect on March 1, 1969 and the tax provided in "An Ordinance
Imposing a Municipal,Utility Tax" shall no longer be imposed on
the occupations and privileges set forth in said ordinance and
the obligation of the taxpayer to make the return required by
said ordinance shall terminate following the filing of the return
covering the month of February, 1969.
