AN ORDINANCE UPDATINC NATIONAL ELECTRICAL
CODE AND MAKING REVISIONS
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has
a duly constituted and appointed Electrical Commission; and
WHEREAS, said Electrical. Commission, after com-
pliance with provisions of the law, have recommended the
passage and adoption of the hereinafter stated provisions;
and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interest of the
Village that the recommendations of the electrical code, by
said Electrical Commission, be adopted.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and Du Page, Illinois:
Section 1: That Section 13.615 of the Municipal
Code of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended to read as follows:
13.615 Adoption of Code) The National Electric
Code, 1968 Edition, is hereby adopted by the Village
of Elk Grove Village as its official Electrical Code
and shall continue to be and its provisions shall
continue to be controlling in the electrical wiring
and electrical construction of all buildings and
structures contained within the corporate limits of
the Village, except insofar as the provisions con-
tained in this Article may be in conflict therewith,
in which event the provisions contained in this
Article shall prevail and said provisions of the
National Electrical Code in conflict therewith shall
be of no force and effect.
Section 2: That Paragraph 2, sub -paragraph (d),
sub -sub -paragraph (1), Page 108h of the Municipal Code of Elk
Grove Village be amended to read as follows:
(1) Drawings shall be submitted to the Electrical
Inspection Department of Elk Grove Village for
approval before any custom build electrical equipment
rated 1,000 ampheres or larger is installed for use

in service or distribution wiring systems.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
according to law.
