OF THORNDALEORDINANCE N0. 66 AN ORDINANCE RE -ZONING 208 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF PROPERTY RUNNING FROM THE SOUTH SIDE OF DEVON AVENUE TO TIIE NORTH SIDE OF THORNDALE, WEST OF STATE ROUTE #83. WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of E1'c Grove Village, sitting as a Zoning Commission at a public meeting duly called and held according to law considered the question of reclassifying the real estate hereinafter described from R-1 to M-2 (Heavy Industry) except for that portion thereof within 540 feet of a subdivision known as Branigar-Mohawk Terrace, which area shall be zoned M-1 (Light Industrial) AND, WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, having considered the recom- mendation of said Zoning Board of Appeals, find and believe that the highest and best use of said real estate is that of M-2 except for that portion thereof within 540 feet of a sub- division known as Brani_gar-Mohawk Terrace, which area shall be zoned M-1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and Du Page Counties, Illinois: Section 1: That an ordinance entitled "An Ordinance to Regulate and Limit the Height and Bulk of Buildings; to re- gulate and Limit the Intensity of the Use of Lot Areas, and to Regulate and Determine the Areas of Open Space Within and Surrounding Such Buildings; to Classify, Regulate and Restrict the Location of Trades and Industries and the Location of Buildings Designed for Specified Industrial Business, Residential and other uses; to Divide the Entire Village of Elk Grove Village into Districts for the Purpose of this Ordinance; to Fix Standards to which Buildings or Structures shall Conform; to Prohibit Uses, buildings or structures Incompatible with the Character of Such Districts Respectively; and to Prevent Additions to and Alterations or Remodeling of Existing Buildings or Structures in Such a Way as to Avoid the Restrictions and Limitations Lawfully Imposed Hereunder, and to Provide Penalties for Violation hereof", passed and approved July 8, 1957 known as Ordinance No. 20, as amended, be amended by reclassifying the following described real estate from R-1 to M-2 except for that portion thereof within 540 feet: of a subdivision known. as F,ran igar.-Mohawk Terrace, which area shall be zoned M-1 (Legal. Section 3: That any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not more than One Hundred ($100) Dollars for each offense, and each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
