AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 ARTICLE X, VILLAGE
MANAGER OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, to extend to the Village
Manager the greatest latitude of powers which it can
legally confer upon him, and
WHEREAS, it is not the desire of the President and Board
of Trustees to indicate to its present administrative
officers, namely the Fire and Police Chiefs any dissatis-
faction with service rendered by them, but rather to
accomplish the first stated reason that it pass this
ordinance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove'Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That paragraph A of Section 4.1004 of the
Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and
is hereby amended so as to include the following grant of
power to its Village Manager and to read as follows:
"Hire,and when necessary for the good of the service
fire,all employees of the Village save as otherwise
provided by this Code or the Illinois Revised Statutes;
relieve from active duty the Fire Chief and the Police
Chief when he deems necessary pending final determina-
tion by the President and Board of Trustees."
