AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE LANES AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE WHEREAS, the Congregation of Alexian Brothers have consented to the parking regulations contained herein, and WHEREAS, the Congregation of Alexian Brothers is the owner of the St. Alexius Hospital; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That Chapter 23 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: " ARTICLE IX FIRE LANES °23.901 Fire Lanes.) For the purpose of this section; the term "fire lane" shall be deemed to be any street, alley, driveway, roadway, accessway or easement of access, whether paved or unpaved, that is kept, maintained, or intended to provide ingress and egress for fire fighting vehicles and equipment to or from any building, structure, or fire hydrant, A "fire lane" may be publicly dedicated, or wholly or partly located on or over private property where the owner has consented. "23.902 Posting of signs.) Fire lanes designated herein shall be posted with signs by the Fire Chief identifying their location. "23.903 Lane designations.) The following areas and lanes are hereby designated as fire lanes: A. At the Saint Alexins Hospital: The circular roadway affording access to either the exits or entrances of the hospital building and all paved areas within one hundred and fifty (150) feet of the exterior walls of the said hospital building, excluding all employee parking areas off of the southeast entrance to the hospital. "23.904) It shall be unlawful for any person to block or obstruct wholly or partly any of the above designated and posted fire lanes. "23.905.) Any person violating any provisions of this article shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than two hundred ($200.00) dollars for each offense." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law. PASSED this�" day of ,1967. APPROVED this //IC— day of .1967.
