AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POLICE RESERVE
AND PROVIDING FOR TEMPORARY POLICEMEN IN
ACCORDANCE WITH NEW LEGISLATION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
Board of Trustees, Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That Chapter 5.1 of the Elk Grove Village
Municipa ode providing for a Police Reserve is hereby
repealed.
Section 2. That Section 5.012 of the Elk Grove
Village Iunic pal Code providing for Special Policemen is
hereby amended to read as follows:
°5.102 The Fire and Police rBoard-shall appoint
temporary policemen in accordance with the
provisions of State Statute, upon the request
and with the recommendation of the Chief of
Police.
Every Temporary Policeman shall have all
the powers.and duties now vested in any
regular policeman under the ordinances of this
Village and the State of Illinois. He shall
be subject to the command and direction of
superior officers and abide by all regulations
of the Police Department.
Compensation and special requirements of
temporary policemen shall be established from
time to time by resolution passed by the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village.tt
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effectroam and after its passage and approval according
to law.
