AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF FIRE EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village have determined that it is both
necessary and in the best interest of the Village of Elk Grove
Village that it acquire certain fire equipment hereinafter
more particularly described, commonly kno�%m as a "snorkel",
through an installment contract which is fully set forth herein;
and
WHEREAS, the Illinois F W D Truck & Equipment Company
represents that it will construct said equipment in a good and
workmanlike manner and it will convey good and merchantible
title to the village for the sum of $65,223.00 payable $15,000
ninety days after the effective date -o£ this ordinance and the
balance upon delivery but in no event one year after the effec-
tive date of this ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has power pursuant
to Chapter 24, Article 11-76.1-1 of the Illinois Revised Statutes
(1965 Edition) to enter into said installment contract for the
purchase of said faire equipment and is desirous of acquiring said
property for public purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'P ORDAINED by the President- and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of
Cook and Du Page, Illinois;
Section 1. That the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village has determined that acquiring the
fire equipment hereinafter described for a public purpose pursuant
to an installment contract set forth in Section 2 hereof is
necessary and in the best interest of the Village of Elk Grove
Village.
Section 2. That the contract between the Village of El.lc
Grove Village and the Illinois P W D Truck & Equipment Company,
a corporation,for the purchase,on an installment basis, of the
hereinafter described fire p-quipment is as follows:

INSTALLMENT CONTRACT TO PURCHASE FIRE EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, ILLINOIS F W D TRUCK & EQUIP. CO. is a corporation
duly organized under the State of Illinois, is in the business
of constructing fire equipment and pursuant to a solicitation
for bids, did submit a bid for and awarded a contract to construct
certain fire equipment for the Village of Elk Grove Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is desirous of
purchasing said fire equipment for a public purpose and pursuant
to the provisions of Section 11, Division 76.1 Chapter 24 of the
Illinois Revised Statutes (1965 Edition), and to pay for same
in installments as provided for herein:
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and between the parties
hereto as follows:
1. The Village of Elk Grove Village agrees to purchase
from ILLINOIS F W D TRUCK & EQUIP. CO. a corporation, certain
fire equipment duly described and set forth on Exhibit "A"
attached, which exhibit is labeled "Specifications for a 1,000
gallon Pumper and a 75 foot Elevating Platform Truck dated
October 1, 1966", for the sum of $65,223.00 payable as herein-
after provided.
2. The ILLINOIS F W D TRUCK & EQUIP. CO. a corporation,
agrees to cause to be constructed the aforedescribed fire
equipment and to sell same to the Village of Elk Grove Village
for the sum stated and payable as hereinafter set forth.
3. The Village of Elk Grove Village agrees to make the
aforementioned payments to ILLINOIS F W D TRUCK & EQUIP. CO.,
a corporation, as follows: $15,000 ninety days after effective
date of an ordinance authorizing this contract, passed pursuant
to Section 11, Division 76.1 Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes (1965 Edition), and the remaining balance after the
effective date of this ordinance and upon delivery of said
equipment, but in no event later than one year after the effective
date of the ordinance.
The effective date to be determined in accordance with
Section 11, Division 76.1 Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes (1965 Edition).
4. The Village of Elk Grove Village, through its corporate
authorities, promises and agrees to do all things necessary and
to pass all ordinances necessary to provide the necessary funds
to pay the obligations hereunder assumed and warrants that same
constitute a general obligation of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
5. The ILLINOIS F W D TRUCK & EQUIP. CO. a corporation
agrees to faithfully cause to be delivered the aforementioned
fire equipment to the Village of Elk Grove Village on the dates
specified in accordance with the specifications set forth on
Exhibit "A" attached which is hereto made a part of this contract,
and upon the warranties and conditions thereon specified and
deliver to the Village said equipment on the date specified for
delivery together with all title papers deemed necessary to
transfer good and clear title to said Village for said equipment.
6. This Contract shall not be effective until and unless
the ordinance authorizing same shall become effective in accordance
with the provisions of the State Statute aforementioned.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties have set their hands and
affixed their seals this 31st day of October, 1966.

Section 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed
and authorized to publish this ordinance twice within thirty
days after its passage and approval in the Elk Grove Herald,
a newspaper of general circulation in the Village.
Section tii. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
as provided for by law.
