HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 25-23 - 5/9/2023 - 2023 Consolidated Election ResultsRESOLUTION NO. 25-23 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS CONDUCTED BY THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE COOK COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE OF THE VOTES OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 41 2023 AND PROCLAIMING THE RESULTS WHEREAS, a Consolidated Election was held in and for the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 for the purpose of electing three (3) Village Trustees - each for a four (4) year term; and four (4) Library Trustees — three (3) for a six (6) year term; and one (1) for an unexpired four (4) year term; and WHEREAS, the Cook County Clerk canvassed the results of the election and as required by Statute transmitted the following totals to the Village Clerk. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, as follows: Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law. Section 2: That a total of 3,875 ballots were cast in the following manner: For the Office of Village Trustee: Kathryn A. Jarosch 3,312 Tammy K. Miller 3,078 Stephen F. Schmidt 2,795 For the Office of Library Board of Trustees (six (6) year term): Eileen M. Valentino 2,201 Mary M. Vitale 2,053 Renee Weiland 1,681 For the Office of Library Board of Trustees (four (4) year unexpired term) Vacant Section 3: That the Proclamation of the Canvassing Board is hereby accepted in total. Section 4: That Kathryn A. Jarosch, Tammy K. Miller and Stephen F. Schmidt received the highest number of votes for the Office of Village Trustee and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee for a term of four (4) years. Section 5: That Eileen M. Valentino, Mary M. Vitale, and Renee Weiland received the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustees and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years. Section 6: That the office of Library Trustee for an unexpired four (4) year term is hereby declared vacant. Section 7: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. Schmidt 26.78% 2.795 Kathryn A. Jarosch 31.73% 3,312 Tammy K. Miller 29.49% 3,078 Monika Stajniak 12.00% 1,252 Total: 100% 10,437 This election having been certified to me as 3 to be elected results in Stephen F. Schmidt, Kathryn A. Jarosch, Tammy K.
