AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE III
REGULATING THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC OF VEHICLES
ON ROADS OR STREETS WHICH ARE NOT PAVED OR NOT
SURFACED
N04, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That Chapter 14, Article III of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended by adding thereto the following:
"Section 14.340, That no person shall drive or overate a vehicle
upon any public road or street in the Village of Elk Grove Village which is
unpaved or unsurfaced at a speed greater than is reasonable and proper. If
the rate of speed of any motor vehicle operated on any public road or street
in the Village of Elk Grove Village which is unpaved or unsurfaced exceeds
twenty-five (25) miles per hour, such rate of speed shall be prima facie
evidence that the person operating such motor vehicle is running at a rate
of speed greater than is reasonable and proper."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its
passage, approval and publication according to law.
