HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 324 - 1/23/1964 - ELECTRICAL COMMISSION/MEMBERSHIPORDINANCE NO. 324 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.902 OF ARTICLE IX CHAPTER 7 - ELECTRICAT, COMMISSION OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE NOW, THEREFORE, RF IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That Section 7.902 of Article IX, Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 7.902. Members Appointed. The said Electrical Commission shall consist of six (6) members as follows: The Superintendent of Electricity or the Chief Electrical Inspector of the Village shall be a member and ex - officio Chairman of the Commission; of the other five members, one shall be a registered professional electrical engineer, one an electrical contractor, one a journeyman electrician, one a representative of an inspection bureau maintained by the Fire Underwriters, if such a representative resides in the Village, and if no such representative resides in the Village, then the Chief of the Fire Department, and one a representative of an electricity supply compang. If there is no person residing in the Village of Elk Grove Village who is qualified under any one of these descriptions, some other person may be appointed to fill the position. All members of the Electrical Commission shall be appointed by the Village President with the advise and consent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village. The term of all members of the Commission shall be four (4) years. All vacancies occurring in the case of appointed members of such commission shall be filled by appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointments. All members and officers of said Commission shall serve without compensation." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
