AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING SCHOOL PROPERTY TO
THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of Community Consolidated
School District No. 59, Cook County, Illinois, did, in accordance
with Section 7-1-14, Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes,
adopt a resolution recommending the annexation of real estate
hereinafter described to the Village of Elk Grove Village, which
resolution did contain all requisite requirements so as to com-
ply with the Statutes made and provided, and
WHEREAS, a copy of said resolution was duly delivered
to the Village Clerk of the Village of Elk Grove Village, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illi-
nois, do believe it to be to the best interests of the Village
that the properties hereinafter described be in fact annexed to
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That the territory and lands hereinafter
described:
Lots 1 to 11, both inclusive, and Lots 16 to 34, both
inclusive, in Steele's Higgins and Touhy Highlands, a
Subdivision in the East half of the Southeast quarter
of Section 260 Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the
third Principal Meridian, Cook County, Illinois;
ALSO
Vacated school street and alleys abutting and adjacent
to Lots 1 to 12, both inclusive, and Lots 16 to 34, both
inclusive (except that part of 20 foot public alley
lying southwesterly of Lot 12 and easterly of a line
drawn from the southwesterly corner of raid Lot 12 to
the northeasterly corner of Lot 16), Cook County, Illi-
nois,
being contiguous to the Village of Elk Grove Village, being with-
out the corporate limits of any other municipality and having no
one resideng thereon and which has been duly petitioned for via
resolution adopted by Community Consolidated School District No.
59, Cook County, Illinois, mentioned above, which School District
is the beneficial owner of said property, be and is hereby annexed
and made a part of the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the Village of
Elk Grove Village be hereby enlarged and extended so as to include
within its corporate boundaries the above described real estates
Section 3. That the Village Clerk is directed to file
a, certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map
of the above territory with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County,
Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according to
law.
