HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 262 - 12/6/1962 - 1962 ELECTRICAL CODEORDINANCE N0. 262 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1962 EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AS THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE, EXCEPT AS TO CONTRARY PROVISIONS CON- TAINED IN THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That the following designated paragraphs and sections of the Municipal Code of Elk Grove Village be amended to read as follows: Paragraph 7 of Section 13.607: "7. Each single family home or separate apartment shall have its own disconnecting device located as de- termined by the 1962 Edition and later editions of the National Electrical Code and the Chief Electrical Inspector." Paragraph 35 of Section 13.607: "35. in general rules and regulations included in the 1962 Edition and later editions of the National Electrical Code are herein implied." Section 13.609: "13.6o9. Adoption of Code. The National Electrical Code, 1962 Edition, is hereby adopted by the Village as its Electrical Code and shall continue to be and its provisions shall continue to be controlling in the electrical wiring and electrical construction of all buildings and structures contained within the corporate limits of the Village, except insofar as the provisions contained in this Article may be in conflict therewith, in which event the provisions contained in this Article shall prevail and said provisions of the National Electrical Code in conflict therewith shall be of no force and effect." Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and aftor its passage, approval and publication according to law. PASSED this 6th day of December, 1962.
