AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 22.1501 AND 22.1502 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE RELATING TO THE LICENSING OF SCAVENGERS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That Section 22.1501 of the Municipal Code of Elk Grove
Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"22.1501 License Required.) It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to engage in the business of a scavenger, or the
collection or disposal of animal, human or vegetable refuse or offal
without first having obtained a license therefor. The annual fee
for such license shall be Five hundred ($500.) Dollars."
Section 2. That Section 22.1502 of the Municipal Code of Elk Grove
Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
"22.1502 Limiting the Number of Licenses to be Issued.) The number
of scavenger licenses to be issued shall be limited to six (6) in
number. One of said number shall be for scavenger service for the
entire Village; the remaining five licenses shall be limited to
scavenger service in the industrially and commercially zoned areas
of the Village, and churches and schools. The Village Clerk shall
designate the character of the license on the licensing document
itself. Said licenses shall create no vested interest in the licensee
and may be renewed or revoked at the discretion of the President and
Board of Trustees at the end of any licensing period with or without
cause. The licensing period for a scavenger license shall commence
on May 1st and end on April 30th of each year, except that the licensing
period for the year 1961-62 shall commence on January 1, 1962 and end
on April 30, 1962.''
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
