HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 234 - 6/25/1962 - RESERVE POLICE OFFICERSORDINANCE NO. 234 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE PROHIBITING THE CARRYING OF PISTOLS BY RESERVE POLICE OFFICERS WHEN OFF DUTY NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That Section 5.18 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "5.18 - Reserve policemen at all times when on active tour of duty shall wear a uniform and identification insignia or badge approved by the Chief of Police and carry on his person a pistol while in the Village limits in the manner and of the type authorized by the Chief of Police. When not on active tour of duty such reserve policemen shall not wear said uniform, said insignia or badge nor carry a pistol unless given permission by the Chief of Police, but shall carry on his person an identification card issued by the Chief of Police." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. Passed and Approved this 25th day of June, 1962.
