HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 246 - 8/20/1962 - DOG NUISANCES/AMENDEDORDINANCE NO. 246 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO DOG NUISANCES AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY ADDING SECTION 17.206a NOW, THER'TORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1. That the Municipal Code of Elk Grove Village be and is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 17.206a Dog Nuisances, as follows: "17.206a. Dog Nuisances. No person having the right and ability to prevent shall, knowingly, carelessly or negli- gently, permit any dog or other animal to commit any nuisance upon any public park, any sidewalk of any public way in the Villagc, or upon the floor or any hall of any multiple dwelling unit which is used in common by the tenants thereof, or upon the fences or lawns or grounds or parkways of any premises, or walls or stairways of any building abutting on a public way, or upon the floor of any store, factory, sch000l or any building which is used in common by the public including all public rooms or places therewith con- nected, or upon the floor of any hall, stairway or office of any hotel, motel or lodging house which is used in common by the guests thereof; nor shall any such person omit to do any reasonable and proper act, or take any reasonable and proper precaution, to pre- vent any such dog or other animal from committing such a nuisance in, or on, or upon any of the places or premises herein specified." Section 2. That any person, firm or corporation vio- lating any provision of this article shall be fined not less than $1.00 nor more than $100 for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a viola- tion occurs or continues. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law. PASSED this 20th day of August, 1962.
