AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
ZONING ORDINANCE AS TO PROPERTY LOCATED EAST OF
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD AND NORTH OF 11XGGINS ROAD
'WHEREAS) the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, sitting as a commission at a public meeting duly called and held
adeoi+ding to law; considered the question of reclassifying the hereinafter
described property to M-1 (Light Industrial District); and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Elk Grove Village have considered the recommendations of said Zoning Board
of Appeals and find and believe that the highest and best use of the real
estate hereinafter described is that of M-1 (Light Industrial District);
NOW, THEREFCRE, BE IT CRDAUSED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois]
Section 1. That an ordinan;e entitled "An Ordinance to regulate
and limit the height and bulk of buildings, to regulate and limit the
intensity of the use of lot areas, and to regulate and determine the areas
of open spaces within and surrounding such buildings, to classify, regulate
and restrict the location of trades an" industries and the location of
buildings designed for specified industrial, business, residential and other
uses; to ivide the entire Village of Elk Grove Village into districts for the

incompatible with the charaYber of such districus respectively; and to prevent
additions to and alterations or remodeling of existing buildings or structures
in such a way as to avoid the restrictions and limitations lawfully imposed
hereunder, and to provide penalties for violation hereof," passed and
approved July 8, 1957, known as Ordinance No. 20, as amended by Ordinance
No. 81 and other amendments, be further amended by reclassifying from R-1
(20,000 Square Foot Single Family Dwelling District) to M-1 (Light Industrial
District) the following described real estate:
Lot 1 (except that part lying West of Arlington
Heights Road) and Lot 2 (except that part taken
for Toll Road) in Scharringhausents Subdivision
of the North 50 acres of the South half of the
Northwest quarter of Sectio_i 22, Township 41
North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
also part of the North half of Section 21, Town-
ship 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, Cook County, Illinois.
Section 2. That an ordinar_ce entitled "An Ordinance to regulate
and limit the height and bulk of buildings, to regulate and limit the
intensity of the use of lot areas, and to regulate and determine the areas
of open spaces within and surrounding such buildings; to classify, regulate
and redistrict the location of trades and industries and the location of
buildings designed for specified industrial, business, residential and other
uses; to divide the entire Village of Elk Grove Village into districts for
the purpose of this ordinance; to fix standards to which buildings or structures
shall conform; to prohibit uses, buildings or structures incompatible with
the character of such districts respectively; and to prevent additions to and
alterations or remodeling of existing buildings or structures in such a way
as to avoid the restrictions and limitations lawfully imposed hereunder, and
to provide penalties for violation hereof," passed andapproved July 8, 1957,
known as Ordinance No. 20 as amended by Ordinance No. 81 and other amendments,
be further amended by reclassifying from B-1 (Business District) to M-1
(Light Industrial District) the following described real estate:
Lots 3, 4, 5, and 61 taken as a tract, in Arthur B.
Scharringhausen's Resubdivision of parts of Sections
21 and 22, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the
Third Principal Meridian (except from said tract that
part taken for Higgins Road Commercial Subdivision
Unit No. 1, being a Subdivision in the West half of
Section 22, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, and excepting also from said tract
that part bounded and described as follows: Beginning

at a point on the West line of said Higgins Road
Commercial Subdivision Unit No.. 1, 336.41 fget North
of the Southwest corner of said Subdivision] said
West Subdivision line having a bearing of North 00 0f
East for purposes of this description; thence North
900 Of West 300 feet; thence North 00 0f East 60 feet;
thence North 900 0f West 533 feet; thence North 00 Of
East 20 feet; thence North 900 0f West 466 feet; thence
North 00 01 East 125 feet; thence 900 Of West to the
center line of Arlington Heights Road; thence South
along said center line to the center line of Higgins
Road; thence Easterly along said center line of Higgins
Road to the place of beginning), Cook County, Illinois.
Section 3. That said real estate as reclassified shall be subject
to all the limitations and conditions placed upon properties in M-1 (Light
Industrial District) as defined in the ordinance heretofore mentioned.
Section 4. Any person., firm or corporation who violates, disobeys,
omits, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the enforcement
of arW of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined not more than
One hundred ($100) Dollars for each offense, and each day that a violation
is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
