AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREETS AS THROUGH STREETS BY VIRTUE OF THE
AUTHORITY PROVIDED IN SECTION 14.201 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE BY ADDING SECTION 14.202
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That in pursuance to the authority of Section 14.201 of the Municipal
Code of Elk Grove Village, the Municipal Code of Elk Grove Village is hereby
amended by the following:
"111.202. DESIGNATED THROUGH STREETS. The following streets, roads and highways
or portions thereof are hereby designated and declared to be through streets:
111. Higgins Road east of its intersection with Arlington Heights Road
and west of its intersection with Scott Street.
112. Laurel Street east of its intersection with Charing Cross Road and
west of its intersection with Tonne Road.
113. Tonne Road south of its intersection with Landmeier Road and north
of its intersection with Devon Avenue, except such paved portions of
Tonne Road which lie within the median strip and which are opposite
Laurel Street, East Elk Grove Boulevard, Clearmount Drive and Walnut
Lane.
"4. Devon Avenue at its intersection with Tonne Road.
"5. Arlington Heights Road south of its intersection with Higgins Road
for a distance of 300 feet and east of the center line thereof.
116. Forest Lane, and Wildwood Road south of their intersection with
Higgins Road and north of their intersection with Oakton Road.
"7. Oakton Road west of its intersection with Arlington Heights Road
and east to a point including its intersection with Wildwood Road.
118. Landmeier Road at its intersection with Tonne Road.
119. Briarwood Lane between Wildwood Road and Forest Lane.
"Every driver of a vehicle traversing any street intersection with any through
street shall stop such vehicle before entering upon the through street within ten (10)
feet of such intersection, unless a go signal is given at such intersection by a
traffic officer or traffic signal."
Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
