AN ORDINANCE: providing penalties for
the misuse or abuse of property belonging
to the Elk Grove. Village .Public Library and
providing further for the preservation of
public records,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS;
Section 1. Any person or persons who shall fail to return any book
belonging to the Elk Grove Village Public Library, according to the require -
meats duly made and adopted by the directors of said library, shall be fined
not less than one dollar nor more than ten dollars for each offense.
Section 2. Any person or persons who shall wilfully or maliciously
cut, write upon, injure,, deface, tear or destroy any book„ newspaper„ plate„
picture, engraving or other thing of value belonging to the Elk Grove Village
Public Library, or under its control, shall be fined not less than five dollars
nor more than fifty dollars for each such offense,
Section 3. Any person or persons who shall wilfully or maliciously
commit any injury upon„ or to the Elk Grove Village Public .Library, or upon,.
or to the grounds, buildings, furniture, fixtures, or other property thereof,
under the control of and used by the Elk Grove Village Public Library„ shall be
fined not less than ten dollars nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense.
Section 4. Every officer of the village, and every head of an executive
department or bureau, and every board, commission or chief of any dcepertment
or branch of the village government, shall mail three copies of all printed re
ports, pamphlets, circulars, and all other printed matter and public documents
intended for general distribution, or designed to preserve records, or issued
for the information of the public„ to the Elk Grove Village Public Library upon
the issuance of same.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect forthwith
upon its passage, approval and publication according to law.
