HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 57 - 5/12/1958 - ANNEX/PART OF RIDGE/HOWARD/LAURELOrdinance No 57 An ORDINANCE to annex land and territory dedicated for street purposes WHEREAS, it is provided by Section 7-8 of Article 7 of the Cities and Villages Act that any municipality by ordinance may annex any territory contiguous to it even though the annexed territory is ded- icated or used for street or highway purposes if no part of the an- nexed territory is within any other municipality; and WHEREAS, the territory known as that part of Ridge Avenue, as dedicated in Branigar's Forest View Homesites Subdivision, lying be- tween the centerline of Howard Street and the centerline of Laurel Street in the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois, is not within the Village of Elk Grove Village but is contiguous there- to and on the boundary thereof and no part of which is in any other municipality; and WHEREAS, the territory to be annexed and as above described will connect with that part of Ridge Avenue which lies within the Village; and WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary that the Village annex the aforesaid territory dedicated as a public street; Now, Therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territory, to -wit: That part of Ridge Avenue, as dedicated in Branigar's Forest View Homesites Subdivision, lying between the centerline of Howard Street and the centerline of Laurel Street in the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois. which said territory has been dedicated as a public street, is con- tiguous'to the Village of Elk Grove Village and no part of which is in any other Municipality, be and the same is hereby annexed to the Village of Elk Grove Village, so that hereafter the said territory, - 1 - dedicated for street purposes, shall be included within the bound- ary lines and limits of said Village of Elk Grove Village. Section 2. That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed to record with the Recorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois, a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate map of said annexed territory. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval according to law. PASSED: this 12th day of May, 1958 APPROVED: this 12th day of May, 1958 Charles A.
