AN ORDINANCE providing for the reconstruction,
repair and maintenance of Tonne Road within
the Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois
WREREAS, Tonne Road, designated as State Aid Road No.
246 , Section 0102 , which lies within the corporate limits
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois, is
presently improved with a 20 -foot pavement constructed and main-
tained by the County of Cook, State of Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is desirous of
procuring the consent of the Board of Commissioners of the County
of Cook, State of Illinois to construct, reconstruct, widen, repair
and maintain that part of Tonne Road lying between the Southerly
line of Landmeier Road and the Northerly line of Devon Avenue, in
the Village of Elk Grove Village; and,
WnEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village nas caused plans
and specifications to be prepared to reconstruct Tonne Road within
its corporate limits, with pavement, curbs, gutters, underground
drainage facilities and sidewalks, which plans and specifications
are on file with the Village Clerk; and,
WHEREAS, the President and board of Trustees have determined
that it would be for the best interests of the Village of Elk Grove
Village that it comply with the request of the authorities of the
County of Cook; that the Village pay the costs of construction, re-
construction, widening, installation of drainage facilities and side-
walks and upon completion of said construction to assume the financial
responsibility for the maintenance and repair of said Tonne Road for
the use of vehicular and other traffic thereon and to restrict park-
ing thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County, Illinois:
Section 1. That the President and Village Clerk be and
they are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a written
agreement with the County of Cook and State of Illinois for the
purpose of assuming financial responsibility of the cost of con-
struotion, reconstruction, widening and maintenance of Tonne Road
within said village lying between the Southerly line of Landmeier
Road and the Northerly line of Devon Avenue; and,
Section 2. That the President and rsoard of Trustees upon
acquiring said agreement and consent, hereby agree to construct,
reconstruct and widen said highway, the cost thereof to be paid by
Commonwealth Edison Company as per agreement entered into by and
between the Village and the said Commonwealth Edison Company; and
Lhat upon the construction and reconstruction of said protion of
Tonne Road, the Village of Elk Grove Village hereby agrees to main-
tain and keep in repair said Tonne Road including snow removal and
weed cutting; and to carry out this commitment, the President and
Board of Trustees hereby agree to make a request for allocation of
motor fuel tax funds for this purpose.
Section 3. That all plans and specifications for the im-
provement and reconstruction as herein set forth shall be approved
by the Highway Commissioner of the County of Cook, the Department
of Public Works and buildings, Division of Highways and of the
State of Illinois or such other body as may be designated by statute.
Section 4. As a further consideration for the agreement
proposed herein, the President and Board of Trustees shall adopt an
ordinance prohibiting the parking of vehicles upon and along Tonne
Road lying within the Village of Elk Grove Village.
Section 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

Section 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect upon its passage and approval, according to law.
