HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCE - 48 - 2/24/1958 - SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITSOrdinance No, 48 AN ORDINANCE pertaining to Social Security Benefits BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook County„ Illinois: Section 1, It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, to extend to the eligible employees thereof, effective as of January 1, 1958, the benefits of the Federal Old - Age and Survivors Insurance System as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act and amendments thereto. In pursuance of said policy, and for that purpose, the Village President of the Village of Elk Grove Village„ Illinois shall take such action as may be required by applicable State or Federal laws or regulations. Section 2. The Village President of the Village of Elk Grove Village:, 111.iaoin is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with the State Employees' Retirement System of the State of Illinois (Social Security Unit) to secure coverage of eligible employees as provided in Section 1, hereof. Section 3. Withholdings from saslz.ries or wages of employees for the purpose provided in Section 1. hereof, are hereby authorized to be made in the amounts and at such times as may be required by applicable e, State or Federal law© or regulations, aan<d shall be paid over to the STAT AGENCY in such amounts and at such tirpes as are designated by State lav+s or regulations Section 4. Employer contribnations and administrative expense shall be .paid to the STATE AGENCY in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations from amounts appropriated for such purposes. Section 5. The Village Treasurer shall maintain such records and submit such reports as may be required by applicable State and Federal laws or regulations. Section 6.
