AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, PUBLIC HEALTH, CHAPTER 4.,
GARBAGE AND REFUSE, SECTION 4-4-1: A.2.a. AND SECTION 44-1: A. 3 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 4-4-1:A.2.a. STORAGE OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE of
the Village Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is hereby amended as
follows:
2. Specifications:
a. For the purposes of this Chapter, suitable containers for
single-family units are defined as containers made of metal or
plastic, not exceeding thirty (30) gallons capacity each, sold
commercially for the specific purpose of garbage and refuse
disposal, or sixty (60) gallon and ninety (90) gallon containers
provided by the franchised waste hauler. The container shall
have a close fitting top or be capable of being tightly closed by
tying or securing the top.
Section 2: That Section 4-4-1: A.3, Placement of Containers, paragraph 2,
of the Village Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is
hereby amended as follows:
On days other than collection days, all garbage and refuse, and
recycling containers shall be kept in the garage or in a reasonable
location within the side or rear yard of any lot; no such
containers shall be stored or maintained within the front yard
area of any lot.
Section 3: That the remaining Section of Title 4, Chapter 4, pertaining to
GARBAGE AND REFUSE shall be in full force and effect.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in
pamphlet form.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
