AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 5, SECTION 4-5-3: NOTICE
TO REMOVE: AND SECTION 4-5-4: ABATEMENT BY VILLAGE; COSTS: OF
THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That Section 4-5-3: NOTICE TO REMOVE: of the Village Code of the
Village of Elk Grove Village be and the stone is hereby amended as follows:
It shall be the duty of the Director of Health & Community
Services or his designated agent to serve or cause to be served a
notice upon the owner, lessee or occupant, or any agent, servant,
representative or employee of any such owner, lessee or occupant,
of any premises on which weeds or plants are permitted to grow
in violation of the provisions of this chapter and to demand the
abatement of the nuisance within seven (7) days from the date
thereof.
Section 2: That the remaining Section of Title 4, Chapter 5, pertaining to
NOTICE TO REMOVE: shall be in full force and effect.
Section 3: That Section 4-5-4: ABATEMENT BY VILLAGE; COSTS:
of the Village Code of the Village of Elk Grove Village be and the same is
hereby amended as follows:
If the person so served does not abate the nuisance within seven
(7) days, the Director of Health & Community Services may
proceed to abate such nuisance, keeping an account of the
expense of the abatement, and such expense shall be charged to
and paid by such owner or occupant.
Section 4: That the remaining Section of Title 4, Chapter 5, pertaining to
ABATEMENT BY VILLAGE; COSTS: shall be in full force and effect.
Section 5: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized to publish this Ordinance in
pamphlet form.
Section 6: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication according to law.
