HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 9-02 - 2/12/2002 - AGREEMENT/COOK COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPT RESOLUTION NO. 9-02 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE COOK COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF AN EMERGENCY VEHICLE PRE-EMPTION SYSTEM AT DEVON AVENUE AND ELLIS STREET NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois as follows : Section 1: That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to sign the attached documents marked: EMERGENCY VEHICLE PRE-EMPTIVE DEVICE AGREEMENT DEVON AVENUE AT ELLIS STREET SECTION: 98-B1117-04-RS a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said documents upon the signature of the Mayor. Section 2 : That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 1 PASSED this 12`" day of February, 2002. Director Engineering and Community Services Re: Emergency Vehicle Pre-emptive Device Agreement Devon Avenue at Ellis Street Section: 98-B 1117-04-RS Dear President Craig: Following discussion with Vito Sammarco, we have prepared this Agreement, in duplicate, for installation of emergency vehicle pre-emptive devices (hereinafter EVPD ) on the proposed traffic signal at Devon Avenue and Ellis Street. Accordingly, the Village agrees that it will pay for one hundred (100%)percent of the costs for the new EVPD, including installation, (estimated $5,000.00)on Cook County's traffic signal. Said costs will be billed to the Village following installation of the EVPD. Further, by execution of the Agreement, the Village of Elk Grove and its Fire Department acknowledge that they shall not have access to or on County's traffic signal and as such, agrees to use Cook County's Electrical Maintenance Contractor for repair of said EVPD, enter into an Agreement with said Contractor for EVPD repair and pay directly to the Contractor for said repair costs as they may occur. Should the Village of Elk Grove be agreeable to the terms of this Agreement, please countersign two copies of this letter and return them to this Department, Attention: Gerald Wulkowicz, Advance Plannin a� nd Agreements Division, Room 2340 Attach a certified copy of the Village Board minutes authorizingthe he signator to commit for the Village. EVPD -2- October 9, 2001 Devon Avenue at Ellis Street We will then present the Agreement to the Board of County Commissioners with a Resolution to be attached and made part thereof, which will authorize and bind the Village of Elk Grove and Cook County, their respective representatives, successors and assigns, to their respective obligations herein.
