HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 46-01 - 12/3/2001 - RETROACTIVE SERVICE CREDITRESOLUTION NO. 46-01 A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW MORE THAN FIFTY MONTHS OF RETROACTIVE SERVICE CREDIT FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS WHEREAS, Article7 of the Pension Code (Illinois Compiled Statutes, 40 ILCS 5/7-139 (a) (7)) provides that governing bodies of IMRF employers with compensated elected officials may resolve to allow eligible former, current, and future elected officials to purchase service credit in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund in an amount that exceeds 50 months of retroactive service; and WHEREAS, such an allowance is limited to time periods during which the elected official qualified for IMRF participation; and WHEREAS, the governing body must adopt this resolution before December 31, 2001. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois as follows: Section 1: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village shall allow the purchase of retroactive service credit for eligible officials in excess of 50 months. Section 2: That the Village Clerk shall be directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund and that this resolution shall remain in full force and effect until modified and notice of such modification or rescission has been filed with the IMRF Board of Trustees. Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT 0 PASSED this 3rd day of December, 2001.
