A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND VILLAGE
CLERK TO EXECUTE A PROTOCOL OF INTENT BETWEEN TERMINI IMERESE,
SICILY, ITALY AND THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE FOR ECONOMIC
COOPERATION AND CONTACT IN FIELDS OF SCIENCE, EDUCATION,
CULTURE, HEALTH, SPORTS AND TOURISM (SISTER CITY)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DUPage, State of Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Village President be and is hereby
authorized to sign the attached documents marked:
PROTOCOL OF INTENT
a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully
set forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said
documents upon the signature of the Village President.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.

PROTOCOL OF INTENT
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
AND
TERMINI IMERESE
A Protocol of Intent regarding economic cooperation and contact
in the field of science, education, culture, health, sports and
tourism between the Village of Elk Grove Village Illinois and
Termini Imerese, Sicily.
In order to develop friendship between the people of Termini
Imerese and the United States and to stimulate economic and
cultural cooperation, the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties
of Cook and DuPage, State of Illinois and Termini Imerese,
Sicily, Italy delegations came to terms of the following
agreement:
1. The Executive Committee of Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy
and the Government Officials of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, Illinois will do their utmost in order to
facilitate the most favorable conditions in cooperating in
the areas of science, economy, and culture. We agree to
establish direct contacts between enterprises and
scientific organizations to organize mutual visits and
exchange delegations.
2. We agree to study mutual possibilities in order to develop
joint ventures and prepare practical exchanges in the field
of industry, mercantile, and others.
3. We will take steps to realize friendly activities to have
cultural exchanges in art, sports, health and other fields.
In order to accomplish our goals, we would like to exchange
friendly delegations and to look for other means of
cooperation.
4. This document goes into effect upon final approval by the
City Council of Termini Imerese.
