A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN APPLICATION
FEE FOR NEW CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISES
WHEREAS, the Village prev::ously adopted Ordinance No. 1448
An Enabling Ordinance Providing Specifications for Cable
Television; and
WHEREAS, Article III , Section 2 , paragraph B of that
Ordinance specifies that applications for a Cable Television
franchise shall be accompanied by a non-refundable application
fee in an amount determined by the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Cable Group has examined the fees
required to offset direct expenses included in the franchising
and evaluation procedures and has made a recommendation to
member municipalities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village , Counties of
Cook and DUPage, Illinois:
Section 1 : That a non-refundable franchise application
fee of $20 , 000 . 00 is hereby established for new cable television
franchisees .
Section 2 : That the payment of this non-refundable
application fee to the Village and the acceptance of the same by
the Village shall not constitute any commitment or obligation on
the Village ' s part to grant the franchise . This fee is in
addition to any other charges made by this Village pursuant to
its Codes and Ordinance , and shall be used for expenses incurred
in the franchising and evaluation procedures including, but not
limited to staff time and consulting assistance.
Section 3 : That this resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according to
law.
