HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 20-96 - 3/12/1996 - ARBITRATOR'S AWARD/POLICE CHAPTER 141RESOLUTION NO. 20-96 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE ARBITRATOR'S AWARDS FOR FISCAL YEARS 1994/95; 1995/96; AND 1996/97 IN THE NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND THE METROPOLITAN ALLIANCE OF POLICE, ELK GROVE VILLAGE POLICE CHAPTER #141 WHEREAS, Arbitrator Elliott Goldstein has issued his interest arbitration award with respect to the disputed economic and noneconomic issues in negotiations between the Village of Elk Grove Village and the Metropolitan Alliance of Police, Elk Grove Village Police Chapter #141; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village has the right under the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act to reject in whole or in part the Award issued by Arbitrator Goldstein by a 3/5 vote of the full Board of Trustees; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village agrees with all of Arbitrator Goldstein's awards on the disputed economic and noneconomic issues; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village is desirous of bringing closure to this proceeding, the arbitration phase of which has already lasted well over one year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, cook and DuPage Counties of Illinois, as follows: Section 1. That the Board of Trustees not exercise its right to reject in whole or in part Arbitrator Goldstein's award. Section 2. That the Board of Trustees thereby go on record as accepting the award in order to bring this lengthy proceeding to an end. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. VOTE: AYES: 6 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 0 PASSED this 12th day of March , 1996.
