A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CLOSURE OF TRAFFIC LANES
FOR THE 4TH ANNUAL MOTOROLA HALF MARATHON AND RELAYS
WHEWAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Elk Grove Village
in Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, desire to close certain lanes on
State maintained roadways, i.e. Roh wing, between Biesterfield and white
Trail, within the corporate limits which by law and/or agreement come under
the jurisdiction and control of the Illinois Department of Transportation
(IDOT) on September 29, 1996; and
WHEREAS, an individual permit must be obtained frau IDOT prior to any
lane closures either by the Village or by a private person or firm under
contract and supervision of the Village; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities find that it is in the best
interests of the village of Elk Grove Village to close certain lanes on
State highways to facilitate the safe passage of persons participating in
the 3rd Annual Motorola Half Marathon and Relays.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE:) by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Village President and Board of Trustees hereby
pledge that all traffic control shall be performed in accordance with the
conditions of the permit to be granted by IDOT and the State of Illinois as
well as the Cook County Highway Department.
Section 2: That the Village Manager is hereby directed and
authorized to execute said permit on behalf of the Village of Elk Grove
Village.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
