NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, State of
Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the Village President be and is hereby authorized to
sign the attached documents marked:

AND ELK GROVE PARK DISTRICT FOR THE OPERATION OF CHANNEL 6
a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set
forth and the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said documents upon the
signature of the Village President.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.

The Village of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Park District
hereby concur with the following terms and conditions for
the continued operation of Channel 6.
• The Village will contribute 40 of its 5% cable television
franchise fee to the Elk Grove Park District for the
exclusive operation of Channel 6 (an 80/20 split) for the
Elk Grove community.
• Extraordinary expenses incurred by the Village for its
administration of the non-exclusive cable television
franchise agreements, such as attorney fees, consultant
fees, public hearing expenses, and independent audit
costs will be paid out of franchise fees first before
distributing the proportionate share of franchise fees.
However, in the event that: the Village is able to recoup,
in part or in total, the extraordinary expenses, the
recovered amounts will be distributed in accordance with
the proportionate share of franchise fees.
• Funds obtained by the Village in addition to normal
franchise fees, such as equipment and cabling grants or
other capital grants, or contributions in lieu of local
origination/local access and B-line services will be
reviewed by the Channel 6 Committee for a recommendation
to the Elk Grove Village and Elk Grove Park District
Boards on potential uses for the funds.
• Annually, the Park District will submit a financial
report on Channel 6 station costs and funding, as well as
ending fund balance. In addition, the Park District will
submit its proposed Channel 6 annual budget to the
Village for informational purposes along with a
compendium of programs and programming provided for the
past calendar year.
• This memorandum of understanding may be cancelled at any
time upon 365 days written notice by either party.
Elk Grove Village and the Elk Grove Park District hereby
acknowledge their concurrence with the aforementioned terms
and conditions by signing below:
