A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE
VILLAGE TO SELL 5.0765 ACRES OF SURPLUS REAL ESTATE
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a home rule unit by
the virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of
Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the Village as a home rule unit, may exercise any power
and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs,
including the power to convey real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is currently in
ownership of 5.0765 acres of I-1 Industrial zoned real estate located
on the west side of Dierking Terrace approximately 900 feet north of
Landmeier Road; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has determined that the
aforementioned real estate is no longer needed for municipal purposes
and that it would be in the Village's best interest to sell that real
estate by private negotiation and contract; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees does hereby determine
that it is empowered by the Constitution of the State of Illinois of
1970 and Ordinance No. 1214 to sell real estate owned by the Village as
a function pertaining to its government and affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois:
Section 1. That the Village Manager is hereby directed and
authorized to enter into negotiations with prospective purchasers of
the aforementioned property, the sale of which the President and Board
of Trustees deem to be in the best interests of the Village.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according
to law.
