HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION - 15-92 - 3/10/1992 - BLDG PLAN REVIEW & BLDG PERMITSRESOLUTION NO. 15-92 A RESOLUTION AMENDING FEES FOR BUILDING PLAN REVIEW AND BUILDING PERMITS NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois: Section 1: The provisions of Resolution No. 20-77 are hereby rescinded in their entirety. Section 2: PLAN REVIEW FEE The applicant for a building permit for single-family residence construction, alteration, remodeling or for a detached structure shall pay the following fees for the purpose of examining and reviewing plans and specifications: A Plan Review for each set of plans for single-family residence - .....$100.00 A Plan Review for each set of plans for single-family residence for alteration, remodeling or detached structure .....$ 30.00 Where Plan Review is not required only building permit fees will be applicable. The applicant for a building permit for any other type of construction shall pay the following fees for the purpose of examining and reviewing plans and specifications: For the determination of the permit fees, the volume of the structure shall be computed as follows: Structures with Basements: The volume of the structure shall include all enclosed dormers, porches, penthouses and other enclosed portions of the structure extending from the basement or cellar floor to the mean height of a pitched roof, or the average height to the top of the roof beams of a flat roof. Structures without Basements: For structures without basements or cellars, the volume shall be based on the height measured to a level located one-fifth (1/5) the distance from the first floor level to the bottom of the footings, but not to exceed two and one -half (2 1/2) feet below the first floor level. Open Sheds: For open sheds and structures of a similar character, the volume shall be measured within the perimeter of the roof for a height from the grade line to the mean roof level. Volume (cubic feet) Up to 20,000 20,001 - 40,000 40,001 - 60,000 60,001 - 80,000 80,001 - 100,000 100,001 - 150,000 150,001 - 200,000 Over 200,000 Building Code Base Plan Review Fee* $ 75.00 95.00 120.00 150.00 180.00 215.00 250.00 $250 plus $2.50 per each 10,000 cu. ft. over 200,000 cu.ft. *Building Code Plan Review fees for Assembly and Institutional Uses and Mercantile Covered Malls (over 40,000 cu. ft.) shall be 1.5 times the base Plan Review fee. *When Mechanical and Plumbing Code Review is required, the Building Code Plan Review fee share shall be 1.5 times the base Plan Review fee. The MINIMUM fee for reviewing plans for minor interior alterations and remodeling for other than single-family residences shall not be less than..................................................$30.00 Preliminary Plan Review services for all types of construction shall be performed for a fee equal to one-half of the established fee normally charged for full and final plan review. Any fees paid for said preliminary review shall not be credited toward the cost for final plan review work. Any additional and exceptional expenses incurred by the Village for Plan Review NOT covered by the above fees shall be paid by the applicant. Section 3: BUILDING PERMIT FEES Industrial and Commercial - Single-family residence - Single-family alteration - or remodeling or detached structure. Non -illuminated signs - $25.00 plus $.25 per square foot of sign surface area of the proposed sign. 2. Illuminated signs - $30.00 plus $.30 per square foot of sign surface area of the proposed sign. 3. Temporary Signs - Permit Fee - $25.00 Monthly Inspection Fee - $10.00 4. Annual Inspection Fee - $15.00 Swimming Pools• 1. Pools capable of containing 1,500 gallons or a a fraction thereof - $25.00 2. Each additional 1,500 gallons or fraction thereof - $2.50 Electrical Fees: A. Permit and Inspection Fees: For original installations in a single-family residence including all circuits, fixtures, receptacles and equipment, the fee shall be: 0 to 499 Sq.Ft. - $30.00 500 to 799 Sq.Ft. - 35.00 800 to 1599 Sq.Ft. - 40.00 1600 to 2399 Sq.Ft. - 50.00 2400 to 2999 Sq.Ft. - 60.00 3000 and over Sq.Ft. - 70.00 B. More than 100 $2.00 ea. add'1. cir. C. For the inspection of a 30 ampere fixed lighting circuit, the fee is double the amount of a 15 or 20 ampere circuit fee. D. Motors and other forms of Power consuming devices. For each electrical motor or Power consuming device other than lighting fixtures, the fee shall be as follows: One motor or Power consuming device $7.50 For each additional motor or Power $2.00 consuming device each This fee is to be applied to all motors over 1/4 horsepower. Motors of 1/4 horsepower or less are to be charged on equivalent incandescent lamp basin. E. Fixtures, Sockets and Receptacles on existing circuits (Lamps of 50 watts) (Not including circuit wiring). Minimum Fee - No electrical fee shall be less than $10.00. H. ALL PERMIT FEES EXCEPT PERIODIC PERMIT FEES shall be paid in advance to the Village. Plumbing Fees The fees for plumbing permit shall be seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for each plumbing fixture. Bathtubs, lavatories, closets, sinks, laundry tubs, drinking fountains, shower receptacles, urinals, soda fountains, and traps shall be considered fixtures. Fire Suppression Systems $50.00 for first 100 heads $ 5.00 for every 100 additional heads or fraction thereof B. Standpipes $25.00 for first standpipe $ 5.00 for every additional standpipe C. Fire Pumps $50.00 for any size pump D. Fire Alarm System (manual or automatic) $50.00 for any size system E. Partial Fire Protection Equipment Installation $30.00 for each system Elevator Inspections The fees for the inspection of mechanical and electricalsafety devices for passenger and freight elevators, manlifts, moving stairs and dumbwaiters shall be $50.00 per inspection. The required number of inspections shall be as indicated in the B.O.C.A. Basic Building Code 1990 Edition, Section 2602.0. Reinspection Fee Wherever in this Article inspections are required and due to incorrect or inaccurate information given by the owner or agent of the premises, a reinspection or additional inspection is required, an additional fee of $10.00 per inspection shall be charged.
