A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
TO APPROVE A NO -CASH SALE TO THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE
OF CERTAIN VACANT PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE VILLAGE OF
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, on December 4, 1989, the Village of Elk Grove Village
submitted a successful bid of One Thousand Three Hundred ($1,300.00)
Dollars pursuant to Section 235A of the Revenue Act of 1939, as
amended, said bid for delinquent tax years 1974 through 1985 on pro-
perty identified as Permanent Index Number 08-29-402-007-0000; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to submitting the successful bid, the
Village was in the process of ascertaining the status of real es-
tate taxes for the years 1986 through 1989 and attempting to pur-
sue the question of the owner of records voluntary payment thereof;
and
WHEREAS, during the course of the Village's investigation, the
time for sending appropriate notice to the owner of record prior
to filing a petition for a tax deed expired and the Village was ad-
vised by the Office of the County Clerk that it was unlikely that
the Circuit Court of Cook County would re -open the notice; and
WHEREAS, the Village is desirous of purchasing the vacant pro-
perty and has been further advised that taxes remain delinquent for
the years 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989 and that this property will
again be subject to a scavenger sale anticipated in the late spring
or early summer of 1991; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village is a municipal cor-
poration and the County's approval of a no -cash sale to the Village
would be fair and equitable in light of the amounts previously de-
posited by the Village on or after December 4, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and
DuPage, Illinois as follows:
Section 1: That the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village hereby request the Cook County Board
of Commissioners to approve a no -cash sale to the Village of Elk
Grove Village for delinquent taxes, property identified as Perma-
nent Index Number 08-29-402-007-0000 and that the County Board
take such further acts as are necessary to effectuate the no -cash
sale to the Village.
Section 2: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to file
a certified copy of this Resolution with the County Clerk of Cook
County.
Section 3: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
