A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A RIDER TO THE AGREEMENT FOR
RESIDENTIAL SCAVENGER AND RECYCLING SERVICE BETWEEN THE
VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE AND GARDEN CITY DISPOSAL
BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and DuPage, Illinois
as follows:
Section 1: That the Village President be and is hereby autho-
rized to sign the attached document marked "Rider To Agreement for
Residential Scavenger and Recycling Service", a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof and the Village Clerk is
authorized to attest said document upon the signature of the Village
President.
Section 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
affect from and after its passage and approval according to law.

RIDER TO AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL
SCAVENGER AND RECYCLING SERVICE
The VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE (VILLAGE) and GARDEN CITY
DISPOSAL (CONTRACTOR) parties to an Agreement for Residential
Scavenger and Recycling Service dated October 11, 1988, hereby
agree and set forth the following provisions as a Rider to said
Agreement:
That the Agreement for Residential Scavenger and Recycling
Service is hereby amended by adding thereto a Paragraph XII which
Paragraph shall read as follows:
XII. Yardwaste Collection Program Charge
A. The CONTRACTOR agrees to make curbside collection
of yardwaste from single-family detached homes,
utilizing a sticker system at not more than the
following rates:

B. The CONTRACTOR agrees to make curbside collection
of brush from single-family detached homes at no
additional cost to the residents of the VILLAGE.
C. The CONTRACTOR agrees to provide curbside collection
of all yardwaste from single-family detached homes
between April 1, and November 30, of each calendar
year.
D. The CONTRACTOR agrees to make curbside collection
of Christmas trees between January 1, and January 15,
of each calendar year at no additional charge to the
residents of the VILLAGE. The VILLAGE agrees to
accept these Christmas trees at an approved staging
area for recycling.
E. The CONTRACTOR shall not be responsible to pick up
any yardwaste placed in containers designated as
unacceptable for proper disposal, such as: plastic
bags and lined rigid containers.
F. The C TRACTOR is responsible fo. furnishing, main-
taining, and replacing the yardwaste collection
vehicle(s) at no additional cost to the VILLAGE
or residents of the VILLAGE, and to provide the
necessary manpower to operate said equipment.
G. The VILLAGE shall conduct a street leaf collection
program. The VILLAGE further agrees to transport
collected leaves to designated staging area. The
CONTRACTOR shall transport leaves from staging
area for ultimate disposal free of charge to the
VILLAGE and its residents.
H. The VILLAGE agrees to provide a staging area, as
approved by the Director of Public Works, to the
CONTRACTOR for the purpose of dropping off and
reloading of yardwastes into transfer containers
for ultimate disposal by CONTRACTOR.
I. The CONTRACTOR shall not allow accumulated yard -
waste to remain at staging area for more than six
(6) days and shall maintain the staging area in
such a way as to not create a nuisance.
J. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for •furnishing, main-
taining, and replacing the equipment required at
the staging area and to provide the necessary man-
power to operate said equipment.
K. The CONTRACTOR agrees to work closely with the
VILLAGE to implement a yardwaste collection program
and assist with educational, promotional, and infor-
mational programs.
IN WITNESS HEREOF the VILLAGE has caused this Rider to be
signed by its President and attested by its Village Clerk pursuant
to authority granted by the President and Board of Trustees of
the VILLAGE, and the CONTRACTOR has affixed his signature hereto
on this 26th day of June , 1990.
