A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE CANVASS CONDUCTED BY
THE CANVASSING BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE OF
THE VOTES OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION FOR VILLAGE OFFICIALS
HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 1989 AND PROCLAIMING THE RESULTS
WHEREAS, a Consolidated Election was held in and for the Village of
Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook. and DuPage, Illinois, on Tuesday,
April 4, 1989, for the purpose of electing one (1) Village President -
for a four (4) year term; three (2) Village Trustees - each for a four
(4) year term; two (2) Library Directors - each for a six (6) year
term; and
WHEREAS, the Village President:, a Village Trustee, and the Village
Clerk met after due notice to all concerned parties and canvassed the
results of the election as required by statute by examining the official
tally sheets and returns which have been transmitted to the Village
Clerk by the County Clerk and have made their report to the Village
Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Cook and DuPage Counties,
Illinois, as follows:
Section 1: That said election was duly held as provided by law.
Section 2: That a total of _6295 votes were cast in the
following manner:
For the Office of Village President:

For the Office of Village Trustee:

Section 3: That a total of 6295 votes were cast in the
following manner:
For the Office of the Library Board of Trustees:
Bruce A. Laird 3539
Frederick 0. Klaus 3518
Section 4: That a total of 6295 votes were cast for a
referendum asking, "SHALL THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE IMPOSE A
SURCHARGE OF UP TO 75 (SEVENTY-FIVE:) CENTS PER MONTH PER NETWORK
CONNECTION ON TELECOMMUNICATIONS CARRIERS, WHICH SURCHARGE EXPENSE WILL
BE ADDED TO THE MONTHLY BILL YOU RECEIVE FOR TELEPHONE OR TELECOMMUNI-
CATIONS CHARGES, FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING A 9-1-1 EMERGENCY
TELEPHONE SYSTEM?" VOTE: YES 4608 NO 1173
Section 5: That the Proclamation of the Canvassing Board is
hereby accepted in total.
Section 6: That Charles J. Zettek, Jr. received the highest
number of votes for the Office of Village President and is hereby
declared elected to the Office of Village President of the Village of
Elk Grove Village for a term of four (4) years.
Section 7: That Joseph T. Bosslet, Dennis J. Gallitano, and
Ronald L. Chernick received the highest number of votes for the Office
of Village Trustee and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of
Village Trustee of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of four
(4) years.
Section 8: That Bruce A. Laird and Frederick 0. Klaus received
the highest number of votes for the Office of Library Board of Trustees
and they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village for a term of six (6) years.
Section 9: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after it passage and approval according to law.
VOTE: AYES: 5 NAYS: 0 ABSENT: 1
PASSED this 11th day of April , 1989.
