A RESOLUTION REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN THE
ILLINOIS CERTIFIED CITIES PROGRAM
WHEREAS, it is the goal of every municipal official in Illinois
to strive to improve the quality of life and economic progress in his
or her community; and
WHEREAS, the residents of the Village of Elk Grove Village take
pride in being counted among the industrious and innovative citizenry
of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, community needs and problems can best be determined
and solved through a cooperative effort between elected officials and
those citizens they represent; and
WHEREAS, the purposes and plans of the Illinois Certified Cities
Program are based on the recognition that business and industry will
locate and expand in well-governed, attractive, and aggressively-
marketed communities that are willing to accommodate the needs of
new development; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village recognizes and subscribes
to the objectives of Illinois, Inc. , which include the cooperative
efforts of government, business, and labor, to "Sell Illinois";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Elk Grove
Village does hereby go on record to support the concept of Illinois
Certified Cities which is designed for communities that want to help
themselves, by formally entering into the Illinois Certified Cities
Program for fiscal year 1987.
