ABNER S. GANET
A MAYOR, A PROFESSIONAL, A FRIEND
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village and the City of Elmhurst
share common interests and concerns; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has participated in inter-
governmental activities with a number of governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, effective and efficient local government can be achieved with
the wholehearted support and hard work of a number of people; and
WHEREAS, one such person has consistently given his time, talent, expertise
and leadership to achieve excellence in the delivery of local public services to
the City of Elmhurst and to other Municipalities; and
WHEREAS, that person has been instrumental in advocating and implementing
progressive intergovernmental relations and programs for the use and benefit
of many Municipalities, including the Village of Elk Grove Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village of Elk Grove Village
does here and now publicly express its heartfelt appreciation to Abner S.
Ganet for his personal and professional dedication toward sound local
government services;
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that Abner S. Ganet be and is hereby commended
for his leadership in the devotion to intergovernmental services, programs
and civic involvement as:
Chairman - YMCA
Board of Governors - Elmhurst Memorial Hospital
Board of Trustees - Elmhurst College
President - Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce
Member - DuPage Water Commission
Director - Suburban Bus Division (RTA)
Secretary/Treasurer - Suburban O'Hare Commission
BE -IT RESOLVED that on the occasion of Abner S. Ganet's retirement on
May 6, 1985 as Mayor, City of Elmhurst, and from other leadership duties,
the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove
Village, through this Resolution, do extend their THANK YOU to Abner S. Ganet
for his outstanding service and unselfish contributions in the field of Local
and Intergovernmental Public Administration.
